Tension Fabric Backdrop Ideas for Exhibitions and Events in Malaysia
The best backdrops do one job well: sell from the aisle, frame a photo, or brand a stage. Decide which job yours has, then design for it.
We print backdrops for all kinds of events across Malaysia, from KidZania KL to expos in Kuching. These are the six ideas we see working best, with what we have learnt about each.
1. The booth wall that sells for you
Visitors give a booth about three seconds as they walk past. Put one clear promise and your logo at eye level, one strong photo behind it, and keep the bottom third plain, because tables, brochure racks and people will cover it anyway.
2. A logo wall for press and launch photos
Repeat your logo, and your sponsors' logos, in an even grid. Wherever the photographer stands, at least one full logo lands in the shot. A curved frame works especially well here because it wraps around the speaker.
3. A photo spot guests actually use
At dinners, weddings and brand activations, people queue for a backdrop that looks good on their phone. Use a bold colour, a pattern or a big hashtag, and keep the space behind faces clear of small text.
4. A stage that looks like a venue
A wide straight backdrop, 8 ft × 16 ft or 8 ft × 20 ft, turns a plain function room into your event. Corporate and car launches often add a printed counter in front in the same design.
5. One frame, a new print every year
Schools, universities and government departments run the same events every year. Keep the frame and reprint only the fabric for the next intake, convocation or open day. Schools and government offices can also ask us for an official quotation (sebut harga).
6. Two zones from one backdrop
Stand a double-sided backdrop in the middle of a hall and you get two walls: registration on one side, a sponsor wall or photo area on the other.
Our tip: Write your main message as if it had to be read from 5 metres away. If it does not work at that distance, it is too small or too long.
Getting your artwork right
- Download the template for your exact size from our artwork page and design at full resolution.
- Keep logos and words inside the safe area shown on the template; the outer edge wraps around the frame.
- Deep, rich colours come out beautifully with dye-sublimation. Hairline fonts disappear from a distance, so pick a sturdy typeface.
